Mandat International is a foundation and research centre with strong expertise in ICT and Internet of Things technologies, smart cities, personal data protection, cybersecurity and standardisation. Along with IoT Lab, it gathers complementary expertise in international law, sustainable development and economics. Mandat International/IoT Lab has been coordinating several H2020/Horizon Europe research projects and has over 20 years of experience in project management, including UN-funded projects. Aiming at promoting international cooperation and standardisation, Mandat International has a special consultative status to the UN and is a member of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU-T), where it serves as Rapporteur on emerging technologies for the Internet of Things and Smart Cities (SG20).

Prospective candidates will be supporting the foundation in European research projects through research activities, legal analysis, and the drafting of deliverables in the context of personal data protection, Internet of Things, sustainable development, and communication. As part of their daily activities, prospective candidates will be involved in several communication activities, including supporting the organisation of webinars and online/onsite global conferences or events. The internship will be performed in close cooperation with the European Centre for Certification and Privacy, as Mandat International is chairing its International Board of Experts.

Prospective candidates should have a background or strong interest in personal data protection, GDPR, emerging technologies, and Internet of Things is desirable.
The position requires a full-time commitment (40 hours per week) and minimum 6 months, preferably 12 months long availability.
The working language of the organisation is English; therefore, a strong oral and written command is necessary for candidates to be able to contribute to the activities (C1 level minimum).
