Georgian Technical University (GTU) is the main and largest technical university of Georgia. It is located in the capital city of Tbilisi. A university building viewed from overhead resembles the hammer and sickle form.
Georgian Technical University was founded in 1922 as a polytechnic faculty of the Tbilisi State University. The first lecture was read by the world famous Georgian mathematician Professor Andria Razmadze.
Transformed in 1928 into an independent "Georgian Politechnical Institute" it achieved University status by 1990.
Since May 25, 2016, a new faculty of law and international relations has been established at Georgian Technical University. The aim and objective of this faculty is to create one more competitive, strong and academic center giving complete and modern education in the Georgian educational sphere.
The creation of the faculty had a strong basis. It was based on the Department of Social Sciences, Department of Policy and International Relations and Law Department. In 2006 it was established on the basis of the Department of Political science, Department of international relations and diplomacy, Department of Georgian history and culture and Department of Philosophy and public relations.
Undertakes an academic internship designed to provide on-the-job training and experience to a high school upperclassmen or recent graduate. Learns under the guidance, mentorship and close supervision of professional staff and/or faculty within an academic setting and/or applied field of learning. Performs a range of on-going activities and assigned tasks requiring knowledge of a defined technical, operational, professional, and/or research area. Receives training and mentorship in planning and carrying out activities and assignments.

Duties and Responsibilities
Under direct supervision of senior professional staff and/or faculty, provides entry-level professional support services in a specialty field, as appropriate to the day-to-day operating objectives of the unit;
Assists in the planning and implementation of assigned projects; participates in projects and programs designed to develop professional skills and expertise appropriate to the needs of the organization;
Uses acquired knowledge and skill to carry out and complete project activities;
May undertake related academic studies or enrichment programs as appropriate to the specific objectives of the operating unit;
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
