Legal research regarding climate adaptation in Greece and the EU
Comparative analysis of at least 3 legal frameworks presenting best practices on climate adaptation policies in the EU.
Specific research tasks:
- An overview of the EU framework (see the EU Strategy on adaptation to climate change)
- Brief presentation of the latest guidelines on adaptation (e.g. the European climate risk assessment report, EEA 2024)
- Analysis of other national legislations and strategies (EU with a focus on Southern Europe)
- Mapping of any provisions on adaptation in national climate laws will be useful
- Monitoring of the latest developments regarding these aspects in Greece (e.g. possible legal amendments of the national framework for adaptation)
The final deliverable will identify potential gaps in the Greek National Adaptation Strategy, and will possibly contain proposals on the enhancement of the existing framework, mainly taking into account the successful examples of other countries’ strategies and the EU guidelines.
