The Justice for Minors Association

TN-RO/02

DESCRIPTION OF THE STEP TRAINEESHIP PROVIDER

The Justice for Minors Association, established in Iași in 2021 through Decision no. 61/PJ/2021, registered in the Registry of Associations and Foundations of the Iași Court under no. 15/A/10.02.2021, brings together a team of professionals – lawyers, mediators, social workers, and psychologists – and pursues two main objectives:

Domestically: the creation of multidisciplinary centers for minors and families;
Internationally: the establishment of a network of professionals collaborating on cases involving minors with elements of foreign jurisdiction.

Essentially, this multidisciplinary approach proposed by the Association in civil cases concerning minors and families aims to change the way these disputes are handled, in order to make the act of justice more effective and efficient in the best interest of the child.

Family disputes involving minors cannot be resolved solely from a legal perspective. The causes of these conflicts are often social or emotional in nature, and therefore, an exclusively legal approach does not lead to optimal results. Evidence of this includes cases of parental alienation and the frequent inability to enforce court decisions establishing contact between minors and one of the parents.

In practice, a single factual situation often generates an average of five separate court cases: divorce involving minors; interim order establishing visitation arrangements; protection order;
enforcement appeal; criminal complaint regarding non-compliance with court orders or custody measures.
