DEHUKAM was established to address Türkiye's increasing need for expertise in international sea and maritime presence following the recommendation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, DEHUKAM was founded within Ankara University in line with the Turkish National Marine Research Strategy (TUDAS). TRAINEESHIP TASKS

As a trainee at DEHUKAM, one of the leading institutions specializing in sea and maritime law, selected candidates will actively contribute to the organization’s ongoing work and research. Trainees will be required to write an essay and prepare a country profile on their home country, demonstrating their analytical and research skills.

In addition to these tasks, they will be expected to assist with the office’s daily operations, including conducting legal research, drafting formal notes and informative legal documents, making translations, and contributing to various legal and policy-related activities.

This traineeship offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in maritime law while engaging in an international and professional work environment.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Candidates applying for a traineeship at DEHUKAM should have a strong interest in sea and maritime law, with a background in law or a related field being highly preferred. While prior experience in maritime law is not mandatory, a demonstrated willingness to engage with legal issues in this domain is essential.

Trainees should possess excellent research and analytical skills, along with proficiency in legal writing and document drafting. A strong command of English is required, and knowledge of additional languages will be considered an asset.

Since the office involves office-based tasks, candidates must be familiar with Microsoft Office applications. Experience in formal correspondence and legal research will be advantageous.
