TRAINEESHIP TASKS

The disastrous fire seasons of the recent years and the high amount of burnt areas in Greece have tragically highlighted the lack of effectiveness and the weaknesses of the forest fire management system, both in terms of prevention and suppression. Despite all the efforts and initiatives taken by the competent authorities the relevant regulatory framework remains inadequate to respond to the conditions created by the climate crisis. The issues related to forest fires require coordination and cooperation among the competent authorities and synergies with all the relevant stakeholders.
