The Jerusalem Institute of Justice (JIJ) is a front-line NGO dedicated to cultivating and defending the rule of law, human rights, and democracy for all people in the Middle East. JIJ advances human rights and civil justice through legal advocacy in governmental, academic and media forums throughout the world as well as in the courts of Israel and the Knesset.

The tasks of the Trainee include inter alia:
- Conducting interviews;
- Fact-finding and conducting online and academic research;
- Legal writing of reports and memoranda.

The materials prepared by ELSA Trainees have in the past been presented to the International Criminal Court (The Hague, the Netherlands), the European Parliament, the UN Human Rights Council, as well as many other governmental and academic institutions globally. Interns and ELSA Trainees are a vital part of the work done at JIJ. Employees from all over the world dedicate their time to the development of human rights and international legal research. Please indicate in your motivation letter clearly your availability for the Traineeship to increase your chances of being successfully selected. This Traineeship is unpaid due to the legal nature and applicable regulations of the Traineeship Provider. For this Traineeship, it is essential that the applicant possess a high-level command of the English language which is essential for the day-to-day
